B client is a multinational company, owning a world wide top brand. Its main products are domestic consumer electronic appliances. It focuses on brand management, product R & D, marketing and sales activities in the US, Europe and Australia. Relying on the rich experience of its professional international team in Supply Chain Management, R & D and Quality Management, B clients began in 2008 to outsourcing their manufacturing business in mainland China, to benefit from cost saving. Within a short time, B client faced some challenges, caused by unstable quality, higher defective rate, higher number of rejected goods, and even outright returning of whole batch of goods. To turn the situation around, B client looked into the quality control activities at the contract manufacturing (CM) plants and decided to recruit a senior quality supervisor to work with CMs on site, communicating quality standard and issues among suppliers, CMs, B client and its customers, monitoring quality control status, arbitrating quality dispute etc. This on site senior quality supervisor is really the key person in the total supply chain.
